MILLSBORO — An Ocean City woman is in critical condition after a crash early this morning at the intersection of Millsboro and Carey's Camp roads.

According to police, Leslie A. Mayhew, 33, ran a stop sign around 5 a.m. in her 2005 Kia Sedan and collided with a 1992 GMC 10-wheel log truck driven by 57-year-old Georgetown resident Peter E. Brown.

The Brown was traveling eastbound on Millsboro Road and Mayhew was traveling southbound on Carey's Camp Road when she failed to stop at the stop sign, police said.

The sedan was pulled into the path of the truck and was struck on the passenger side.

Mayhew was initially transported to Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford, but has since been removed to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md, where she is listed in critical condition.

Brown, the operator of the truck, was not injured.

Delaware State Police closed the roadway down for approximately four hours while the crash site was reconstructed.

Police said they have experienced great difficulty in attempting to contact Mayhew's family and requests anyone with contact information call State Police Troop 7 at 302-644-5020, ext. 118.
