Cleanup crews and police have shut down the ramp from southbound I-71 to I-471 South into Northern Kentucky because of a semi-truck crash and fuel leak.

The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on the ramp. The truck appears to have hit the overpass in that area.

Police on the scene say the truck's fuel tank, which holds 200 gallons of fuel and was about three-quarters of the way full, was leaking fuel at a rapid pace. Crews managed to cap the tank but there is a large pool of fuel, about 30 gallons, on the roadway. Officers managed to keep the fuel from getting into the sewer system.

It's not clear how the accident happened or whether anyone was hurt.

The ramps from Liberty Street and Reading Road onto I-471 are also closed due to this accident.
